This was a wonderful romance of healing and learning. Dana was a woman desperately trying to escape an abusive past. Nick was the town contractor and a widow who everyone loved, with a son that soon brought Nick and dana together. Gun shy after her abusive marriage, Dana resisted Nick for all she was worth, but Nick was determined, and they soon were embarking on a very careful romance. The truth of her past finally came out and threatened their happiness, but by then, their romance was so real, there was never any doubt these two would end up together. Nick is such a wonderful sympathetic character that you really wish could really exist! Dana was a character it was hard to not cry for. This story really touched a chord and will for most women I believe. I highly recommend it.

I have to say that I fell in love with the little mouse. Each page is a colorful new experience. I felt his horror when he heard about the terrible Big Hungry Bear, and his frantic attempt to save the red, ripe strawberry from him. What a clever and entertaining book. I am a storyteller and this is the favorite of all. Children young and old can enjoy the beautiful illustrations and the creative storyline. It definetly makes me want a big, red, ripe strawberry.

Elmer the elephant is an adorable character for toddlers. In this book, the multi-colored elephant incounters a different weather conditions on each page. From windy to snowy to sunny, toddlers learn about the weather in a simple, brightly colored format. My 19 month old son adores Elmer and insists on taking this book to bed with him each night.

This is the first book I have found that lays all the documentation on the line concerning ubiquitous computing and the Internet. I found it to be a most interesting glimpse into the future of the Internet and the granular level of control that waits for us there. Are we headed for a digital economy? Is technology working for us, or slowly laying the groundwork for invasion of privacy and loss of freedom? I strongly recommend this book if you're interested in these types of questions.

Each time I need information about a perennial, I find this book has a listing for that plant. I can't say that about any other perennial reference book that I have used.

This book is an excellent resource for timberframe builders, designers, or enthousiasts. It is very technical though, and many of the terms are un-definined in the glossary. The illustrations are superb. It has multiple indexes on specific joints. One index, for example, has an illustrated list of every single scarf joint immaginable, with a description of the joint's history and how well it functions. I love this book. Every architect and timberframer should own this book! It is very inspiring.

"Epiphanius Tighe and the Dragon of East South Water Street" is the second book involving the wrinkled and impish dracologist, Professor Tighe, hot on the trail of a dragon, hunting for loot and food in downtown Chicago.

The characters are amusing and well-defined (especially folksy Ephiphanius in his fish out of water situation), and all the subplots all dovetail nicely. What I enjoyed especially is Wood's charming illustrations of how the descendants of Irish immigrants in the U.S., many generations removed, still cling to the notion that they're as Irish as a penny whistle. I guess it just goes to prove that Americans secretly long to belong to something older and deeper with meaning than the disposable pop culture they find themselves in.

All around a terrific read with a great protagonist. Too bad old Albert Sharpe is no longer living; he might have made a great cinematic Epiphanius Tighe! Hats off to Woods in his second Epiphanius Tighe adventure. Am looking forward to the next.

This is the only book needed when travelling around Europe.
